The development and production of special cylinders for a wide range of applications has been our core competence for many decades. Our team of experienced engineers design special cylinders and develop custom-made solutions in coordination with our customers. We supply a range of industries with particularly high demands and this has effectively shaped our extensive expertise and capabilities. We have many years’ experience of makingspecial cylinders for tunnel construction, especially powerful advance cylinders (see photo) or gripper cylinders, which have to deliver maximum performance even under extreme conditions (confined spaces, rock falls, dust). In addition to traditional round cylinders, we also manufacture particularly strong designs with a square housing, which is capable of absorbing high transverse forces, such as the support cylinder pictured below.

We make ram cylinders and shaft support lifting cylinders for drilling equipment, which have been specially designed for high mechanical loads in continuous operation. Construction equipment and cranes are subject to similar operating conditions and the robust design of our compensating cylinders, clamping cylinders, telescopic cylinders, lifting cylinders and holding cylinders reliably withstands extreme environmental conditions, such as rain, hail or snow, and dirt accumulation.
 

We have decades ofexperience in the design of pressing cylinders. Press construction has always been associated with very high demands in terms of quality, accuracy and endurance. Our engineers have to identify the many varying operating conditions of presses on a case-by-case basis. This requires extensive knowledge of the construction of cylinders and seals and of the design and coating of the piston rod. Optimum design and maximum performance depend on a wealth of experience and an integrated approach to the construction of press cylinders. We are ready to meet the challenges posed by the constantly increasing dimensions of special cylinders. Our machinery can manufacture a wide product range and a major part of our production consists of large cylinders for plant engineering,mechanical engineering and conveyor technology, etc. Depending on the type of application, we can build large mill cylinders, powerful roller cylinders and high-performance control cylinders or actuators (see photo). Our hydraulic cylinders with piston rod diameters of up to 1,000 mm and a stroke of up to 10 m meet even the highest requirements, including maritime applications where the piston rod coating is very important or industrial furnace engineering where furnace tilting cylinders and casting cylinders have to combine high temperature resistance with extremely long strokes.
 

It is important to us that we respond to our customers’ individual requirements in a flexible, capable and innovative manner. As part of the development of hydraulic cylinders for special applications we engineered PEEK guide strips that are able to withstand enormous lateral and transverse forces.
 

We have already developed special low-temperature cylinders for use in applications that are subject to extreme temperatures down to -50° Celsius. A precise analysis of the specific requirements, extensive knowledge of materials and an appropriate sealing design play an important role here, too.

Our ATEX cylinders safely meet the requirements of explosive atmospheres. We offer modified series cylinders and special models with ATEX certification as well as the corresponding hydraulic power units for customers looking for a complete hydraulic system from a single source.
