Stratix 8300 Layer 3 Modular Managed Ethernet Switches

The Bulletin 1783 Stratix 8300™ Layer 3 Modular Managed Switch line uses the current Cisco® Catalyst® switch architecture and feature set along with powerful configuration tools, helping to provide secure integration with the enterprise network using tools familiar to IT professionals. At the same time, the switches provide easy setup and diagnostics from within the Rockwell Automation Integration Architecture™ using tools familiar to manufacturing professionals. This Layer 3 switch supports routing between VLANs and subnets.

1783 Stratix 8300™ Layer 3 Modular Managed Base Switches

• Available in a 6-port or 10-port version
• Includes two 1 G ports (copper or fiber SFPs)
• Includes SFP slot which supports 100 Mbps and 1 G fiber optic uplink transceivers

1783 Stratix Switch Expansion Modules

• Includes base switches each of which supports up to two expansion modules (maximum of one fiber)
• Provides up to 16 additional copper or fiber ports
• Available with either eight copper 10/100 Mbps ports or eight fiber 100 Base-FX ports with LC connectors

1783 Power over Ethernet Expansion Modules

• Offers two modules:
  • Four PoE or PoE+ copper ports
  • Four PoE or PoE+ copper ports and four 10/100 copper ports
• Provides reduced wiring cost for lower power devices (IP phones, cameras, wireless access points, bar code readers)
• Provides flexibility in deployment of devices in remote locations
• Requires separate power input on the expansion modules
• Offers network control with the ability to turn on/off devices for power savings or added security
