Wolf Safety has worked within the Military sector for over 25 years to supply ATEX certified portable and temporary lighting equipment for use in military aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul applications where potentially explosive atmospheres may be present.
To deliver optimum operational performance, military aircraft require on-going maintenance, repair and overhaul and this typically takes place in potentially explosive atmospheres due to the presence of fuel vapour, aircraft having been in operation, and/or the creation of explosive dusts through painting and coating applications.
With the aircraft typically housed in aircraft hangars, warehouses, aircraft preparation facilities, clean rooms and development facilities, the working areas, outside and inside the aircraft, have low ambient light levels, with light obstructions and shadowing, which are inadequate for safe, efficient and effective task working.
Wolf’s explosion protected portable and temporary lighting solutions are ideal for such situations particularly with military requirements centred on ATEX certification for safe use in Zones 0 and 1 potentially explosive gas, vapour, mist and dust atmospheres, primary cell and mains voltage power supply and high task light output.
Wolf Safety has a range of intrinsically safe portable and temporary solutions for use in ATEX hazardous areas, which have all been codified, using the NATO Codification System, with unique NATO Stock Numbers (NSN) for selling into and stocking by the military.
